Naming its dram after a windswept inlet on Islay's Atlantic coast, Kilchoman Sanaig marries the distillery's signature citrus-tinged peat smoke with a rich balance of dried fruits and warm spices.
This vatting of bourbon and Oloroso sherry seasoned casks delivers a complex yet approachable single malt that celebrates both maritime power and orchard sweetness.
Production: Peated barley is floor-malted on site and fermented for 90-hours, then double-distilled in small copper stills before maturation in bourbon barrels and Oloroso butts supplied direct from Buffalo Trace and Bodega Miguel Martin.
Pairing Suggestions: Delicious with smoked salmon canapés or grilled chorizo, it also lifts hearty mushroom risottos and aged Gouda to new heights.
Tasting Note: Fragrant heather and orange peel on the nose give way to spiced orchard fruits, toffee and dark chocolate, all underpinned by waves of rich peat smoke and a lingering cinnamon?clove finish.
Origin: Islay, Scotland
Alcohol: 46.0%
