Our first ever single cask bottling comes from the fabulous Isle of Raasay Distillery.
Using 100% Scottish Barley, this lightly peated single malt has spent three years in bourbon barrel and eight months maturing in a small ex-Oloroso quarter cask.
The increased contact between sherry-soaked oak and whisky means this seemingly young whisky is already fully matured, with intense, rich, character, gorgeous dark ruby colour, and bags of flavour.
A stunning whisky from one of Scotland's finest distilleries, we proudly present The Spirits Room x Isle of Raasay Single Malt Whisky.
Tasting Note:
Nose: Rich toffee, cinnamon, cola, glacée cherry, soft pears, star anise, smoky cocao, mossy vegetation, sweet smoky barley.
Palate: Sweet, then spicy, rich, and unctuous. There’s flavours of clootie dumpling, brown sugar, and a touch of orange citrus
Finish: A chilli-like heat and spiciness on the finish, backed up by toffee and barley sweetness, bitter herbs, dew-damp heather, and sooty, salty, biltong smoke.
